SpectraApps™ Reference Applications and Advanced GUI Downloads
Planetweb has created a broad range of vertical market applications and technology demonstrations to assist our customers in their analysis of SpectraWorks for suitability to a particular application and the capability to produce GUIs of a desired style. In addition, Planetweb licenses product-ready versions of the Digital Photo Manager, Digital Audio Manager, and Digital Television reference SpectraApps.
SpectraApps are typically built first in the SpectraWorks Windows simulation environment, possibly before the embedded target hardware is available. After a simple port to the target hardware, the SpectraApps can be maintained in parallel on Windows and the embedded device, and easily synchronized with any source control system.

Espresso Maker

The Espresso Maker concept GUI includes a rotating carousel interface for selection of beverage, with dynamic image scaling and alpha blending for depth cueing. Text effects include drop-shadow and gradient, and multiple font display. Dynamic language selection is shown, including Japanese, Korean and Italian. Screen-to-screen fade transitions are also featured.

Advanced GUI Menus

Modern GUIs seen in leading-edge consumer products use distinctive interactive styles, several of which are demonstrated here.
The "Wave" GUI shows dynamic image scaling in response to changing focus.
The "Carousel" GUI shows dynamic image positioning, scaling, and alpha blending for distance keying.
The "Grid" GUI shows opening and closing animations and dynamic image positiong and scaling.

ATSC Digital Television & Digital Photo Manager

A full-featured ATSC Digital Television application, including full setup menus (channel installation, video, audio, display, and system settings), volume, brightness, contrast settings, PSIP EPG, and optional Digital Photo Manager, easily ports to any digital television platform. The Digital Photo Manager features thumbnail previews as well as slide show and zoom functions. The reference GUI can easily be extensively customized for unique branding.

A demonstration of key SpectraWorks capabilities, including multi-skin abilities, dynamic widget properties, touch-screen gestural input handling, multiple font effects, multiple languages, gauges, and animation.

Digital Media Adapter GUI

This two-level menu concept GUI for a Digital Media Adapter (DMA) shows path and frame animation, as well as multi-skin capabilities.
